Prior to your pet's surgery, food should not be given after midnight but a small amout of water is okay.
Pets needing surgery should be drop off between 8:00am - 8:30am and owners should bring the filled out paperwork at this time.
Once the surgery is completed, a licensed technician will contact you and letting you know the time for pickup so they can go over the discharge with you. Most surgical procedures will require the pets to recover and can go home in the afternoon.
Our veterinarians highly recommend waiting until your pet is approximately 6 months of age before their spay/neuter procedure. Your pet will be given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. We also recommend a pre-anesthetic blood screen prior to undergoing any anesthesia and surgery.
Procedures that involves putting sutures in can be removed in 14 days following the surgery. A suture removal appointment are done with a licensed technician and is at no charge to the client.
Before you pet goes under anesthetic procedure, we strongly recommend doing bloodwork. Bloodwork results will give our veterinarians vital information regarding your pet's organ function and overall body health. This is done to assure safety during your pet's surgical procedure and the ability to heal following surgery. The best part about pre-anesthetic bloodwork is that you don’t have to make an extra trip to have it done! Bloodwork is done the same day as your pet’s surgery and this ensures that we have the most current information about how your pet is doing before they are anesthetized.
